What Are You Doing To Protect Your DAM Network?
As you may have read last week, the US Justice Department recently indicted seven Iranians for cyberattacks on US institutions. What you may not have heard is how the hackers attacked their target. The vulnerability in the Rye, New York “dam story” was an unsecured modem:

Something you may not consider today is that the “back door” of your enterprise network is often more susceptible than the heavily fortified “front end”. Do you have Out-of-Band Management (OOBM) connections for network routers, switches, and firewalls? Are the connections attached to analog phone lines or unsecured devices? If so, your network may be reachable from any global location. How many vulnerable access points are in your infrastructure and who can reach them?
CDI purpose-builds equipment to provide native two-factor security for Out-of-Band connections. CDI devices will encrypt Out-of-Band Management sessions running over public IP, analog POTS lines and cellular wireless connections. Access is controlled via “keyed” head-end devices normally located in your Network Operations Center.
Moreover, cellular wireless OOBM — running on PRIVATE cellular network connections — can improve your bottom line with tremendous OPEX savings opportunities.
